Jake specializes in representing management in labor and employment litigation and counseling. Jake has experience representing both public and private employers in employment discrimination, unfair labor practices and class action wage and hour cases. He also has extensive experience in the areas of law enforcement interest arbitrations, negotiating collective bargaining agreements and conducting internal investigations.
Jake has tried approximately 100 bench trials and contested motions, over 40 interest and grievance arbitrations across the United States and 25 jury trials in state and federal courts and administrative agencies including the Illinois Labor Relations Board, the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other agencies in Illinois and other states.
Before entering private practice, Jake served as law clerk to the Honorable Justice John J. Bowman of the Illinois Appellate Court. He then served as a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney for nine years, serving in the Civil Bureau’s Labor and Employment Unit and later as a criminal prosecutor concentrating in the investigation and prosecution of homicides and sex crimes, ultimately serving as the State’s Attorney’s Office’s specialist in serial sex crimes.
