Meloney Cargil Perry focuses her practice on insurance class-action and bad-faith litigation. Ms. Perry is currently involved in defending a major auto insurance company in complex, insurance regulatory and/or class-action litigation in multiple jurisdictions. The case topics include, but are not limited to, a challenge to the use of medical audit vendors and privacy of medical records, an attack on the method in which uninsured motorist coverage is rejected, the practice of deducting “betterment” in adjusting automobile property damage claims, and the use of credit scores in the underwriting process. Additionally, she has been involved in extensive policy forms drafting, legislation and/or lobbying efforts, and negotiations with various governmental agencies. Ms. Perry also frequently does appellate work in multiple jurisdictions.
